Colorado Adventures are better with our dogs by our side!
There are a few essential ingredients to enjoy a great time on any adventure with your dog:
great leash walking skills
coming when called
polite and composed greetings with people and other dogs
and relaxation in a variety of environments (like a brewery or coffee shop!)
These skills are the main focus of our Colorado Life Skills programs!
We offer three main service options to support our students who want to focus on Colorado Life Skills - Group Classes, Private Lessons, and Training Done For You (Adventure Camp for Dogs).
Group Classes in Fort Collins, Colorado
For dogs of all ages!
Our most popular path for training Colorado Life Skills is through our Group Class program!
If you haven’t done any training with your dog before, we recommend starting in a Level 1 group class!
If you have done group training together before and you know that your dog is comfortable in a group training setting, you can check out our Level 2 Colorado Life Skills topical classes!
Once your dog has graduated from of at least one Level 2 class, you can join our Training Treks Drop-in Excursions for additional practice and/or move on to classes in Levels 3 & 4.
Colorado Life Skills Private Lesson Program
Let Us Help you design a customized training Plan to meet your goals!
A Colorado Life Skills Private Lesson Program is customizable to your unique goals and challenges with your dog! If you have goals that fall into the list of essential Colorado Life skills outlined above, or advanced adventure goals with your dog (i.e. cross country skiing, airplane travel, teaching your dog to run beside your bike or riding in your bike trailer, etc.), this program is for you!
A Private Lesson Program may be a good fit for you and your dog if you:
- Enjoy the ability to work one-on-one
- Have specific behavior challenges or goals that need a customized plan
- Need a more variable schedule than group classes can provide
Adventure Camp for Dogs - Drop-Off Training
Adventure Camp is a place for dogs to come and learn while their humans are at work, school, or just taking a much-needed break! This service is carefully and thoughtfully curated to foster the maximum learning benefit for the dogs in our care. We host just a small group of dogs on each day of Camp so that your dog can receive so much individual attention from the Camp team! Adventure Camp focuses on developing skills covered in our Level 1-4 curriculum, with an emphasis on the Colorado Life Skills that will help you and your dog get the most enjoyment out of your adventures together!
Note: If you have a puppy younger than 5 months, you can start in Adventure Camp for Puppies! Currently, spots in Adventure Camp for Dogs (older age group) are offered to dogs that have taken at least one other service with us. Many of our group class or Private Program students go on to enjoy Adventure Camp to continue to practice & improve their dog’s training skills!
